Mary Valiakas is the Head and Founder of the UK branch of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy
Born in Athens in 1982, she’s been resident in the UK for the last 16 years. A writer, social entrepreneur, and creative at well known advertising and digital agencies, through her arts & culture development agency, Oi Polloi, Mary also collaborates with academics, diplomats, cultural consultants, business people, artists, musicians, urban planners, fintech entrepreneurs, and changemakers in the UK and around the world. She studied Writing, Literature and Publishing at Boston’s prestigious, Emerson College, and has two Masters degrees – an MA in Eastern Philosophy from Bristol University, and an MA in Creative Writing and Personal Development from Sussex University. As of 27 March 2020, she takes on the leadership of HICD in London, UK with a vision to make the Greek brand not just relevant, but central to the progress of humanity once more.
