Maria Nerantzaki is the Head and Founder of the branch of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Belgium

Mrs Nerantzaki was born in Thessaloniki and raised in Brussels, where she attended the European school of Brussels. She was then admitted to the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki and graduated from the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental studies, with specialisation in Politics and International Relations. She subsequently completed her Master’s Degree at Université Libre de Bruxelles in the Department of Political Science, with focus in Russia, Caucasus and Central Europe, while practicing at the Permanent Representation of Greece to the EU for the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and COEST (Eastern Europe and Central Asia) working party. Currently, she works for the Transparency Unit at the Secretariat General, in the European Commission. Her mother tongue is Greek and speaks English, French, Russian and Romanian. Ms Nerantzaki is also a professional dancer, choreographer and performer. She is classically educated ballerina and worked as a dancer and dance instructor for the last fifteen years. Currently, she works in Brussels as a freelanced choreographer, collaborating with international dance schools and academies, companies, theatres and teams.
