Yiannis Politis

Yannis Politis is a member of the Board of Directors. of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy.

Mr. Politis has been a journalist and political analyst for three decades. At the same time, he teaches the course “Management of journalistic sources” in the Department of Media of the Kapodistrian University. It began in 1984 in the newspaper TA NEA, where she worked for 28 years as a political editor and columnist, and was also the head of the newspaper’s electronic edition. In 1988 he became a member of the Union of Daily Newspaper Editors of Athens (ESIEA). He was a member of MEGA CHANNEL’s first journalism group, where he worked for 14 years as a political editor, head of the political reporter and presenter of news broadcasts. He has served for 9 years as General Manager at the radio stations Athens 9.84, City and Vima FM. From 2004 to 2013, he worked at Public Television (former ERT) as a political commentator on the central newsletter and newsletter presenter.
He is a spokesman for the EPLO, a columnist in Real News, a political analyst at Real FM, and an X2 newscaster on Action24 and a channel advisor. He is an honorary professor of the TEI of the Ionian Islands and has served as Vice President of the Foundation. He is Ambassador of the Special Olympics of Athens and the Association of Social Responsibility for Children and Young People (Σ.Κ.Ε.Π.) He has been awarded by:
-The Athanasios Bassis Journalism Promotion Foundation, “for the complete and objective presentation of his subjects, his successes with several exclusivities in his political reportage and his prominent presence in Television”
-From the Union of the Ionian Islands, in the framework of the “2nd prize for the awarding of prominent personalities from the Ionian Islands”, which took place on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Union of the Ionian Islands with Greece.
– From the Union of Mayors of Attica “for its objectivity in the exercise of its function”.
-He has been declared an honorary citizen of Lefkada for his offer to the island.
-It has delivered seminars at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the law graduate and at the Police Officers School.
He was born in 1961 in Meganisi, Lefkada, and studied Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh-Bachelor & MSc at East London University. He is married and has two children.
