Mihalis Diakontonis is the General Manager of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy.
Mr. Diakontonis is a graduate of the Economics Department of the Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a postgraduate degree from the Department of International and European Studies of Panteion University, with specialization in International Political Economy. He has served for three years as a probationary researcher at the Centre for Euro-Atlantic Studies and at the Centre for International Political Economy of the Institute of International Relations. During his research, he worked with a group of scientific collaborators on a study on Greek Foreign Policy in relation to the triangle Greece-Cyprus-Israel. In the last two years, he is the Research Coordinator of the Institute of International Relations in Russia, Eurasia and Southeast Europe, focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean region. In the past, he has worked in the Deposits and Loans Fund and in the Attica Region, and today he teaches financial courses in private secondary education and regularly publishes articles on political, economic, and international content pages.
