Konstantinos A. Gerokostopoulos is the Ambassador of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Germany
Mr. Gerokostopoulos is Ambassador He was born in Patras in 1944. He studied law and practiced for a while in law. He joined the Foreign Ministry in 1972 and served consecutively in Düsseldorf (1975-77), in the MA of Greece in NATO (1977-1983), in the Central Office (1983-1989). USA (San Francisco) (1989-1991), Belgrade (1991-1993) and Bonn (1993-1994). Head of the EU Observer Mission in the Former Yugoslavia (1994), Ambassador of Greece to Croatia (1994-1998), Director of Turkey at the Central Office, (1998-2000), Ambassador of Greece to Rome (2000-2004), Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe (2004-2008). Since March 2008 Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in Belgrade (2008-2010) and Baku (2011-2012). He lives permanently in Germany.
