Mr. Panagiotis Tsaklis is a member of the Academic Council of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy.
Dr. Panagiotis Tsaklis is a Regular Professor at the Physiotherapy Department of the Alexandrio TEI of Thessaloniki and Senior Researcher at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
He is a member of the Council of the Independent Authority for Quality Assurance and Certification in Higher Education (ADIP) from 2015.
He has served as Director of the Institute for Lifelong Learning at ATHE since 2010 and was President of the Physical Therapy Department of ATEI (2012-14).
He is chairman of the Steering Committee for Sports Facilities of ATEI and Director of the Laboratory of Biomechanics and Ergonomics of the Physiotherapy Department.
He holds a basic degree in Physiotherapy Departments of ATEH (1987) and the Department of Physical Education and Sports Studies of Democritus University of Thrace (1991). He completed his Ph.D. in Exercise Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001. He completed his PostDoc studies fellowship at the Karolinska Institute of Sweden in the field of Biomechanics and Automotive Control (2005-2006). He was trained in the field of Tissue Engineering at HST – Harvard Medical School / MIT (2007). He worked as a principal investigator and instructor at the NVS & Public Health Sciences Department of the Karolinska Institute (2005-2009). He was a Visiting Professor at the Dept Mechanical Engineering (Bioengineering) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Massachusetts, USA (2008-2012) and is a member of the Harvard Medical School Postgraduate Scholars Association. It has strong learning mobility through LLP Erasmus + in several European Universities.
He has a rich writing, teaching and research work in the fields of Biomechanics, Ergophysiology, Ergonomics and Rehabilitation. He participates in 4 Postgraduate Studies Programs, as a departmental supervisor and has supervised a large number of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctoral theses. He has coordinated and participated in many EU-funded research projects (FP3 – FP7 – INTERREG II – Erasmus + etc).
He has been trained in the design and implementation of curricula for Health Schools from Harvard Medical School and is a member of the Evaluation Committee for the annual awarding of curriculum proposals at the Medical School of Case Western Reserve University,
He is an Expert Expert of the European Commission for the Horizon 2020 and ERASMUS + programs, as well as the Research Evaluation Committees of the Research Foundation of Cyprus and the Hellenic Ministry of Education.
