Efi Basdra is a member of the Academic Council of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy.
Mrs. Basra graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, she completed her postgraduate studies in Orthodontics at Columbia University in New York, USA and she worked as a PhD in Biomedicine at the Medical School of the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Her research interests focus on the cellular and molecular biomechanics of osteoblasts, chondroblasts, vascular endothelium, and recently in association with carcinogenic processes. He has extensively published in the specialized area of the cellular-molecular mechanisms of motor-induction of various cell types. Her scientific studies have been honored with many Greek and international awards and awards, among them the “Arnold Biber Prize” of the German Orthopedic Society. He was editor-in-chief of the World Orthodontic Review. He is a member of the Editorial Committee and a reviewer of periodicals and inspections of basic research and special research on the biological basis of maxillary pathophysiology. Today she is a professor at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and she heads the Unit of Cellular and Molecular Biomechanics. From May 2013 to May 2016 he was President of the State Scholarship Foundation. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Supervisory Board of the think tank DANESSOS.
