Ms Rea Politis is the head of the Directorate of the Hellenic Institute of Cultural Diplomacy in Athens.
Ms. Politis was born in Athens, originating from Fokida and Mani. She is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the University of Athens. She holds an MSc from the Institute of Sport and Sport Sciences of the University of Sheffield with a scholarship from the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation and Ph.D. of Sport Medicine and Exercise Biology, University of Athens. She has been a researcher at the Department of Sport Sciences at Manchester Metropolitan University under the IKY program and for six years at the Muscle Tissue Research Laboratory, University of Athens Medical School. She has presented numerous scientific announcements at European and Worldwide conferences on the topics of Physiology, Myopathology, Exercise Biology. She has published in international scientific journals. She attended seminars on a variety of topics, focusing on environmental and intercultural education, human rights, social coexistence. She has worked in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences of the University of Athens, in KETHEA, in the Military College of Evelpidon, in Primary Education. She speaks English and Italian.
